yeahp, it's launched. ;]

**

MEAN;

Quick Vocabulary Review:

~> Sum - it is the answer to an addition problem.

      8 + 4 = 12

~> Addends - the numbers added together to get the sum.

      8 + 4 = 12

[!] MEAN means the AVERAGE of a group of numbers.

HOW DO YOU GET THE MEAN IN A GROUP OF NUMBERS?

Here's how:

The given numbers are 7, 3, 5, 6, and 4. There is a plus (+) sign which indicates that you have to add up all the numbers.

7 + 3 + 5 + 6 + 4 = 25

It doesn't end there. The sum you just got from adding all of the given numbers has to be divided by the total amount of data.

7 + 3 + 5 + 6 + 4 = 25

25 divided by 5

= 5 ---> * 5 = MEAN *

MEDIAN;

[!] MEDIAN is the MIDDLE number in a set of ordered numbers. Make sure they are in numerical order !!

HOW DO YOU GET THE MEDIAN IN A SET OF ORDERED NUMBERS?

Here's how:

In the numbers 7, 3, 5, 6, and 4, the middle number is 5.

Right? Right? RIIIIIIGHT?

No!

These numbers are not in order! I told you to put them in order, didn't I?

It should be:

3, 4, 5, 6, 7

5 is in the middle.

Now that one's right!

In some cases, there are more than one middle numbers:

Know those 2 or more numbers first.

And then add them all together.

The sum must then be divided to 2.

Again, those above aren't in numerical order.. let's try again.

4, 4, 12, 16, 19, 22

12 and 16 are in the middle.

Add them: 12 + 16 = 28

Are you done? Nope!

28 divided by 2 = 14

MODE;

[!] MODE is the digit that occurs more than once in a set of numbers. Make sure they are arranged from least to greatest !!

HOW DO YOU GET THE MODE IN A SET OF NUMBERS?

Here's how:

In the numbers 2, 3, 7, 7, and 18, the number that appeared most frequently from the set of numbers given is 7.

So therefore, 7 is your mode.

RANGE;

[!] RANGE is the difference between the greatest and the least value in a set of numbers. Make sure they are arranged from least to greatest !!

HOW DO YOU GET THE RANGE IN A SET OF NUMBERS?

Here's how:

4, 7, 10, 15, 19, 27

The first number is 4

The last number is 27

Subtract these 2 numbers and the difference is your range.

27 - 4 = 23

GRAPHING;

Y Axis ~ the variable

X Axis ~ the information/term you know something about

[!] The title and variable must never be left unlabeled.

HOW DO YOU LABEL/CREATE A GRAPH?

Here's how:

* You can jog Dominion St. to Wellington Ave. during Phys. Ed class (3 miles) per half an hour. Make a graph that shows how many miles you'll be able to cover within 5 hours. Be sure to label the X and Y Axis.

On the left side (Y Axis), those are labeled miles vertically.

Horizontally below (X Axis) are the hours.

The line shows how many miles you can jog depending on the hours.
